Several greater New Haven organizations provide services to people experiencing homelessness. The system includes services from prevention to homeless outreach to emergency shelter. The focus of this system of care is to help people navigate services to achieve stable housing.

Full Job Description

AMETEK Specialty Metal Products (SMP) Wallingford is a US-based pioneer in the manufacturer of High Purity Metal Strip, Specialty Shaped Wire, Engineered Shaped Components and Thermal Management Materials.

AMETEK, Inc. Specialty Metal Products is seeking a safety conscious individual with a desire to work in a manufacturing environment to support our 2nd and 3rd shift operations. Prior metals experience is preferred, but extensive training is provided!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ability to set up and operate all grinding, welding, slitting, flattening, leveling, packaging, and other production equipment
    • Selects appropriate operating parameters and is able to produce required products to specifications
    • Ability to troubleshoot and correct problems related to the operation of the production equipment
    • Demonstrates ability to drive fork trucks and other devices used to move materials throughout the plant
    • Performs quality checks to ensure product meets internal and customer specifications using various measuring devices. Provides quality samples to the QC Lab for approval
  • Performs all safety and quality checks on the equipment, and performs required preventive maintenance and other maintenance as required
  • POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
    • Safety conscious and able to assess risks
    • Strong mechanical aptitude
    • Solid mathematical skills
    • Desire to use hands and learn new machinery and tooling
    • Willingness to work on weekends if needed
    • A high school diploma or GED certification
    • Able to pass a hair drug test

Must wear long pants and dress for manufacturing environment. Also wear steel toe shoes if you have them.
