Liberty Community Services, Inc. A representative is available to assist patrons of the New Haven Free Public Library weekdays. Office hours start Mondays through Fridays at 10:15 AM. The last appointment is accepted at 4:30 PM. We can help answer questions about: housing and housing-related resources, re-entry, employment, and health services.

HEAT ADVISORY - COOLING LOCATIONS

 

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for our area. The Heat Advisory is in effect today, tomorrow and likely Friday. Be sure to use situational awareness for any possible heat exposure to elderly, children, individuals with chronic medical problems, and of course pets on hot pavement. Please be sure to drink plenty of water, wear loose fitting clothing, and stay out of direct sunlight when possible. For any heat related emergencies, please call 911. For individuals who may need to seek refuge from the heat, you may do so at one of the following City of New Haven cooling locations.

 

Ives Library (133 Elm Street) will be open from 10 AM – 8 PM.

 

Fair Haven Library (182 Grand Ave) will be open from Noon to 8 PM.

 

Mitchell Library (37 Harrison St) will be open from 10 AM to 6 PM.

 

Wilson Library (303 Washington Ave) will be open from 10 AM to 6 PM.

COVID-19 VACCINATION INFORMATION

At this time, all individuals ages 12+ are eligible for the COVID-19 Vaccine.

NOTICE: If you are 12-17 years of age, you must have a parent or guardian present to get vaccinated.

Parents/Guardians must complete a vaccine consent form(consent forms available on-site).
