Section 8 Project Based Housing Voucher
For Chamberlain Heights and 24 Colony Street Apartments

Project Based Voucher Program is a rental assistance for eligible families who live in specific housing developments or units.

The Housing Authority of the City of Meriden will be opening the Project Based Voucher wait list From Monday August 15th, 2016 at 9:00am until Friday, August 26th, 2016 at 5:00pm.

Pre-applications must be submitted ONLY online at www.waitlistcheck.com/ct2833 or via the link provided at www.meriden-ha.com and www.211ct.org

Only one application per person will be accepted. Internet access is required to complete the pre-application. If you need internet access, this will be available at our local agencies and our offices.

Families needing a reasonable accommodation to complete the pre-application must be requested in writing to our office.

No mailed, faxed, dropped off, or incomplete applications will be accepted. All applications received are entered into a lottery selection process and 1,000 applicants are randomly selected for placement on the waiting list. Only those randomly selected will be notified of placement on the waiting list.

All and any income-eligible households may submit a pre-application. Accecptance and/or assistance are based on income verification and eligibility requirements. Maximum income levels,  based on family size are to follow:

2-  $35,000
3-  $39,400
4-  $43,750
5-  $47,250
6-  $50,750
7-  $54,250

Waterbury Housing Authority
The Housing Authority of the City of Waterbury (WHA) will be accepting Preliminary
Applications for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program (formerly known as the
Section 8 Program). The HCV Program is a federally -funded program which subsidizes
decent, safe, and sanitary housing for low income persons. Applicants must meet all
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development income and eligibility guidelines.
Interested applicants must apply online:


between August 15, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. and August 17, 2016 at 4:30 p.m.
Only one pre-application per family will be accepted; duplicate pre-applications will be disqualified.
This pre-application is accessible through any computer, tablet or smart phone. If you require a reasonable accommodation, please call 203-596-2640 x116, Monday–Friday from 9:00 am–4:00 pm.
The Waterbury Housing Authority will have a computer available on Tuesday, August 16th, 2016-Wednesday August 17th, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. as a reasonable accommodation at 2 Lakewood Road, Waterbury, CT.

After successfully completing the pre-application, you may print the confirmation.
The Waterbury Housing Authority will use a Random-Draw Lottery System to determine the order of each pre-application on the waiting list, and a maximum of 2,000 pre-applications. Those chosen in the lottery will be notified by mail no later than September 30, 2016. All disqualified and remaining applications not selected will be discarded with no further notice. Therefore, if you do not receive a letter by September 30, 2016, your pre-application was not drawn.

The Waterbury Housing Authority does not discriminate in admission or access to federally
assisted housing programs. Any eligible individual with handicap will be served. Those who
have visual or hearing impairments will be provided with the necessary information to understand and participate in the program. Efforts will be coordinated to comply with the nondiscrimination requirements of Section 504. This is an equal opportunity housing program.
